I’ve got some restructuring i’d like to try, been kicking it around these last two months or so, especially in light of bullet journaling, magick, philosophy of life, attention, addiction, writing. I’d like to try another hand at the idea of the essay, essay qua attempt, as an expedition, a starting out, a mission, a quest, but also a potentially ritualistically inflected mission, one performed cyclically with deviations oriented towards and from a system, an overall project of being.
Abstracts, I think i must admit finally to myself and my readership, are utterly mystifying to me, in so far as i was taught not to use the abstract as an introduction (there’s an introduction for that) but rather something more in the mein (?) of a poem, certainly an aesthetic attempt, stab, campaign, expedition, recipe, grocery shopping (as i did a few hours ago), potion of revival (as i make, acolyte though i am, at the Siren Temple).
I’ve been reading Reflextions in time pockets, auxiliary work tracking Infinite Jest, gnawing down on Imperium after getting bored with Victory City (i don’t know what mood i’m supposed to be in when i read Rushdie, maybe its that he writes autumnal novels...I am course on my way up, mania coming into the fore usually once my sleep schedule. That of course is something to keep in mind during this rush of planning. And Mercury approaching its next retrograde…
I’ve been wanting to write the exegesis of Bleed Out and i copied out by hand today the lyrics with a few marginalia and schematica. I’ve been working on the theme of a self-resurrecting/spiritualist/seance conductor/inpatient of a theological psych ward/multicarnationist prophet who is trying to find his way back to the Republic of the Daemons.
